A New Promise

The New Covenant in Christ gives us a new promise; a better promise. The Old Covenant promised an eye for an eye and condemnation for disobedience. The New Covenant promises salvation in Christ simply by faith. The New Covenant promises that the Law of God will no longer be on tablets of stone but on our hearts and in our minds through the Holy Spirit. No longer will our motivation to obey be simply the fear of eternal destruction, but now the motivation will be the personal relationship we have with Jesus Christ.
